Tax help volunteers are people from within the community who give up their time each year. They are not ATO staff.

Our Tax help volunteers are only able to help with fairly straightforward tax returns.

  • Digital mentors have the valuable role of supporting people to learn new digital skills.
Working in partnership with the learner, a digital mentor listens for and creates teachable moments. The overall aim is to help learners feel more confident when using digital technology so they can feel more confident and empowered.

We have a FREE course to train digital mentors and you don’t need to be an IT expert to participate, you just need a willingness to learn how to support people, especially people 50+, to get online and use digital devices.

Do you have a family member, neighbour or friends that you would like to be able to support?

Talk to us about upcoming FREE training!

  • Cobram Community Christmas Gift Appeal

The Cobram Community Christmas Gift Appeal is running again in 2022.  The Appeal, originally coordinated by the Uniting Church has been running for over 30 years. Cobram Community House took over the Appeal in 2021 to ensure its continuation.
The appeal provides Christmas gifts to children aged 0-12 in Cobram and the surrounding districts to support families experiencing hardship.   Last year the Community Christmas Gift Appeal provided gifts to approximately one hundred and fifty children.
We are again inviting the community to support our Christmas Appeal. The following local businesses have generously agreed to be collection point for gifts – Bendigo Bank, Cobram Cinema and Barooga Aquatic and Recreation Centre.  Members of the community are encouraged to donate unwrapped gifts for children up to the age of 12 at these locations or at Cobram Community House. The gifts will be distributed to families who need a helping hand at Christmas.  We would appreciate if gifts could be dropped off by 6th December.

  • Doug’s Christmas Day Lunch

We are glad to be able to put on Doug’s Christmas Day lunch again in 2023 at the Cobram Bowling Club. This lunch is for older people who may otherwise be lonely on Christmas Day as they have limited opportunity to go elsewhere.

In 2023 there will be a $20 participation fee which must be paid before December 8th.

The event will be alcohol free.

Registrations have commenced and payment can be made by coming into Cobram Community House.

Spaces are limited and not all registrations will automatically be accepted.

We are seeking volunteers to help both beforehand and on December 25th. Please contact us if this volunteering opportunity interests you.
