  • Build your confidence with technology in a friendly, supportive environment.

    This five-week course is designed for beginners who would like to improve their everyday digital skills. Participants can attend individual classes or come along to the full five-week series.

    Week 1 (14/08/26) – Microsoft Word

    Learn how to create and edit simple documents.

    Topics include: Opening and saving a Word document, Typing and editing text, Changing fonts, size, colour, and layout, Using bold, italics, underline, and bullet points, Inserting pictures, Creating simple letters, flyers, and cards.

    Week 2 (21/08/26) – Microsoft PowerPoint

    Learn how to create a basic presentation.

    Topics include: Opening and saving a PowerPoint presentation, adding and arranging slides, inserting text and images, choosing simple designs and layouts, using transitions carefully, presenting a slideshow.

    Week 3 (28/08/26) – Email, Internet & Online Safety

    Learn how to use email and the internet safely and confidently. Topics include: sending, receiving, and replying to emails, adding, opening and saving attachments, searching for information online, identifying trusted websites, recognising scams and suspicious emails, creating safer passwords and passphrases, understanding basic online safety.

    Week 4 (04/09/26) – Canva

    Learn how to use Canva to create simple and attractive designs. Topics include: opening a Canva account and navigating Canva, working with templates, adding text and images, changing colours, fonts, and layouts, uploading and using your own photos, creating posters, invitations, flyers, cards and social media posts, downloading, saving & printing your design.

    Week 5 (11/09/26) – Incorporating AI into your digital skills

    Learn how AI tools can help with everyday digital tasks. Topics include: what AI is and how it can be useful, using AI to help write emails, letters, and documents, asking good questions to get better answers, using AI for ideas, planning, summaries, and learning, understanding privacy and safety when using AI, combining AI with Word, email, Canva, and online searches.

    Each week we will also include managing files and folders, finding saved documents, saving work correctly, using USBs, understanding basic cloud storage, building confidence using a computer independently.

    Fridays 9:30am – 1pm

    Cost: $98, ($74 concession) for the 5 week series, or $36, ($31 concession) per individual class.
